Fleet Maintenance System™ (FMS™)

About FMS

NOBEL Systems’ Fleet Maintenance System™ (FMS™) provides municipalities and public agencies with a consolidated platform to track and manage the operational costs of agency-owned or leased vehicles. FMS™ centralizes preventive maintenance, inventory control, warranty tracking, fuel usage, and vehicle status, making all information accessible through a secure web-based interface with no software installation required. The system enables users to schedule and document repairs, monitor tire and parts inventory, and flag critical thresholds. Built-in interfaces support integration with GPS and fuel management systems (including Gasboy and FuelForce), helping agencies better monitor fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and service intervals. A dashboard view allows administrators to identify high-cost trends, compare performance over time, and streamline vehicle lifecycle management. FMS™ supports shared services across jurisdictions, enabling coordinated vehicle use and reducing redundancy in fleet operations.

Sourcewell Contract #031224-NBL enables participating government and nonprofit agencies to procure FMS™ through a competitively awarded, pre-vetted purchasing agreement.

FMS™ Features and Capabilities

The Fleet Maintenance System™ (FMS™) provides public-sector agencies with a centralized interface to track, manage, and report on all aspects of fleet operations. From scheduling preventive maintenance to monitoring parts inventory and managing work orders, FMS™ is designed to support both routine maintenance and long-term fleet planning.

Vehicle Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance

Users can create and update vehicle work orders by repair type and assign them to specific vehicles, parts, and labor. Preventive maintenance schedules are available through the calendar interface, with alerts for upcoming service needs.

Inventory and Warranty Tracking

FMS™ monitors parts and tire inventories, with customizable thresholds to flag low stock or seasonal fluctuations. It also tracks backordered items and warranty-covered components to reduce procurement delays and avoid redundant purchases.

Fuel Monitoring

The platform includes fuel usage tracking, enabling agencies to generate weekly, monthly, or annual consumption reports. It interfaces with external systems, such as Gasboy or FuelForce, to analyze fuel consumption with mileage and support cost reduction strategies.

Recall and Warranty Processing

The system tracks both open recalls and warranty claims. All warranty-covered parts and service activities are linked to vehicle records to improve tracking and avoid duplicate entries or unnecessary expenditures.

Reporting and Dashboard Tools

FMS™ includes dashboard views and reporting tools to assess fleet readiness, track costper-vehicle or cost-per-mile, and monitor operational performance over time. Reports support performance benchmarking and help justify maintenance budgets with data-driven documentation.

Shared Services Support

The system supports inter-municipal resource sharing, allowing county and regional entities to coordinate vehicle use, reduce duplication, and share maintenance responsibilities across jurisdictions.

Integrated Interfaces

FMS™ integrates with major fuel systems and GPS tracking platforms to monitor mileage, speed, and location. These integrations help agencies consolidate data sources and maintain oversight without managing multiple systems.
